BOOK CLUB UPDATE

Next meeting of the Book Club will be Sept 15th at Carol J. home
Willa Cather's "Oh Pioneers" will be discussed.  You might choose to read "My Antonia"  or some of her other writings.  (Note. Day of week is being changed because of the new Activity night schedule beginning September 1)

READ the rest of this blog for more information.

We had an enjoyable time this last week reading the humorous writings of Patrick McManus.
Because of the conflict in scheduling with the High Priest Steak Feed on August 7, we have changed the date of our outing to the Rockin B Ranch.  We would now like to plan to go on August 28.
Keep in mind that the Relief Society budget cannot cover the cost. Sandy Dexter will coordinate the money for a group discount if 10-20 people (families are invited) are interested. Here is the information about the next show date (which will not be on the same day as the Steak Feed!):  To take advange of any group Discount she is asking that the money be to her no later than August 22.  The more the merrier, so if you want to invite friends please do so.

Pat McManus Shows, both with complete BBQ Dinner:

$35 Adult; $10 Li'l Pardners 10 years old and under

2 yrs and under: free. Lap kids eat off parent's plate with no seat assignment.

Saturday, August 28, 2010 Doors open 5:30PM. Dinner at 6:30PM, show at 7:30PM.

"Pot Luck: A compendium of strange, weird and eerie tall tales by the master craftsman, Patrick F. McManus: Tales that don’t fit anywhere else but in a pot luck. Features a ghost story that ends damply, Pat's abduction by space aliens, Eddie as a deep sea diver, Zelda the canoe, and an unbelievable pig ride! (Real ponies don't go oink.) Contains one of Pat’s most endearing tales: “The Grasshopper Trap.” Also introduces a favorite character: Old Ed, the 100 year old mentor who dispenses advice as easily as he falls asleep."
