All the church magazines are celebrating 40 years of publication. The church has had magazines for more years than that. The New ERA is just 40 years old. The Friend replaced the Children's Friend 40 years ago. Trivia answer: The Children's Friend was created in 1902 mainly used by Primary leaders and parents. (I remember there being lessons in the magazine) The Ensign, okay help me out, what was the name of the magazine it replaced? Was it the ERA?
Of course at one time the Relief Society had it's own magazine as well. The lessons were in the magazine and there were lots of stories and recipes, etc.
