BOOK CLUB

Sam Carter (7811 E. Liberty Ave. phone # 922-1877) will host the 15th Ward Relief Society Book Club this Thursday, November 18th at 7:00pm. Thanks, Sam!

We are reading The Boy Who Harnessed the Wind by William Kamkwamba. "Discarded motor parts, PVC pipe, and an old bicycle wheel may be junk to most people, but in the inspired hands of William Kamkwamba, they are instruments of opportunity. Growing up amid famine and poverty in rural Malawi, wind was one of the few abundant resources available, and the inventive fourteen-year-old saw its energy as a way to power his dreams. . . . The Boy Who Harnessed the Wind is an inspiring story of an indomitable will that refused to bend to doubt or circumstance. When the world seemed to be against him, William Kamkwamba set out to change it." ~Amazon DOT com summary. Several sisters have read it, and I can't wait to hear your thoughts. If you haven't read it yet, you only have four days. But you are welcome (always) to come whether you've read it or not. (Seriously, no one will care if you don't read it, but we'll all miss you if you don't come--for example, I won't be reading it in the next four days, but I'll be there.)

Go through your stacks, closets, and shelves. Select one book, a few books, or a box-full you don't want anymore. Then bring any books you are willing to part with and we will have our first ever holiday Book Exchange.
