RECIPES from another Relief Society in the Valley

Received these recipes from a Sister in the East Valley Stake.  They sounded good and easy and something you sisters might like to try.

Taco Soup ..…Excellent
2 cans chili with meat and beans 2 cans tomato sauce
1 can kidney beans, undrained 4 c. water (rinse can)
3 T. taco seasoning (1 pkg) +/_ to taste

Heat to boiling. Serve with corn chips or tortilla chips. Put soup in serving
bowls, add chips. Garnish with shredded cheese, and sour cram. So easy and
yummy! Serve with green salad and hot cornbread for whole meal deal!

Can be heated on the stove first and then transferred to
crockpot. Turn on low. Eat later. So good on a cold fall/winter
night! Optional ingred.: Canned corn, undrained
Sautéed chopped onion and green pepper
Browned hamburger, drained, if using chili without meat


Chicken Mango…excellent
Layer in crock pot: 3-4 frozen chicken breasts
1 pkg. taco seasoning mix
1 can black beans, drained (I use 2 cans of black beans to make it go further)
1 container (48 0z) Mango salsa w/peaches from Costco.

Cook on low 6-7 hours. Shred chicken and cook 30 more minutes. Serve.
Can serve on tortilla w/cheese and sour cream)

Dump Cake…super excellent
1-2 cubes of butter
2 cans pie filling: apple or cherry
1 small can crushed pineapple
1 box yellow cake mix

Butter pan or Dutch overn….Layer: Pineapple w/juice, Pie filliing,
Yellow cake mix…Cover top with butter (melted). Bake at 350for 45 min.

You might try this when camping and cooking in a Dutch Oven
Caribbean Rice and Beans. excellent
1 ½ c. rice, cooked
1 (15.5 oz) can S&W Caribben Recipe Beans (or black beans)
Homemade Salsa or Pace Picante Sauce

Put heated Caribeean beans over hot rice and top with Salsa. Can serve with corn chips.

Corn Salad…excellent
2 – 11oz. cans White Shoepeg Corn ..drained
1 c. chopped pepper (half green and half red)
½ c. chopped red onion
1 c. mayo
2 c. sharp cheddar cheese grated
1- 9 pz. pkg. Fritos chili cheese corn chips (crush slightly)

Combine corn, peppers, onion, mayo and set aside until ready to serve. Just before serving, add cheese and chips.

Chicken and Rice Casserole
 8 x 8  casserole    double for a 9 x 13 casserole

Aproximately 12 chicken tenders or chicken breast cut in pieces
1can Cream of Chicken Soup
1can water
1cup Minute Rice

Place chicken in pan sprayed with non stick cooking coating.  Sprinkle with salt,pepper and onion flakes.  Mix soup, water and rice.  Add 1 tsp. of dried parsely flakes.  Pour over chicken.  Cover and bake for 45 minutes at 350 degrees.

Tator Tot Casserole   (you probably have a similiar recipe, but sometimes there is something new to learn)
9 x 13 pan sprayed with non stick cooking coating.

Press 1and1/2 lbs of uncooked hamburer into the pan (should be as lean as possible*)  Sprinkle with salt, pepper and onion flakes.
Drain 2 can green beans and pour bean overr hamburger
Cover entire surface with tator tots.
Mi x 2 cans of Cream of Mushroom soup with 1 can of water.  Pour over tator tots.  Bake 45 minutes at 450 degrees.
* If hamburger is not lean, press it into pan and cook for about 10 minutes and then drain before putting rest of ingrediants on.

Cherry Fruit Salad
1 can cherry pie filling
1 can sweetened condensed milk
1-20oz crushed pineapple  drained
1- 8 oz cool whip
1 cup nuts (optional)

Mix all together and serve.  Can be served a salad or a dessert.
